VIDEO PACKAGES

October 2017

FEATURE PACKAGE

My partner and I were tasked with creating a feature package on a local event during the fall. We decided to report on State College's annual Downtown Fall Festival. In this assignment my partner, Matt, took the role as the reporter on the scene, while I handled the camera, wrote the script, and edited the package.

November 2017

HARD NEWS PACKAGE

For this assignment, my partner and I were to produce a hard news package. We chose to report on the possible dangers of commuting to and from Penn State football games and the similar dangers of tailgating.

October 2017

LOOK LIVE

For this assignment I was to recreate a "look live" or a live shot that required me to report for roughly 60 seconds on a recent newsworthy story.

PERSONAL BIO

My name is Bobby Brown and I'm a senior broadcast journalism major at Penn State University (Class of 2018). I'm currently enrolled in the Donald P. Bellisario School of Communications and the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism. I grew up in Chalfont, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Central Bucks High School South in 2014. While in high school I enjoyed acting in theater productions, performing in school talent shows, and following CB South and Philadelphia sports. Here at Penn State I've had the opportunity to cover Nittany Lions athletics for CommRadio and participate in Penn State's student-run theater club No Refund Theater. I've also had the opportunity to work on the live production team for the State College Spikes, where I got to play all in-game music and sound effects for every Spikes home game at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park during the 2017 season. In my free time I enjoy playing fantasy football and baseball, collecting vinyl records, watching movies, and showing off my knowledge of useless information at trivia nights at bars in State College and Chalfont.
